Photographs have only two dimensionsBut love defies all logic in a pictureAbove all that is physical~ Tiziano FerroA new year brings forth new perspective. Whilst I pondered of the recent events and occurrences in my life, the love for my passion came into question. Stress and anxiety knocked down the bridge as they came rushing through the gates of my soul. My mind was a battle ground between my self-righteousness and the expectations of others. Comparisons brought forth envy. Speculations brought forth an unsound mind. My status quo had drifted from the original master plan, and I had reached the “more on” zone.My daily life started to get affected by my negative thoughts, and my spirit was constantly troubled. I was fragile, and my physical needs were unattended to. I was exhausted, and could not bare the critiques and comments that once built me up. My spiritual world was unbalanced. So what do you do when you cannot function properly through your days? When no matter how many times you try to change your perspective, at the back of your mind you know it’s futile? There is a reason our body breathes in ways we cannot see. A universal sign of Love, that every time we breathe - each breath is different from the next, and the one before; ever since the day we were born. That when we rest, our minds can still tell us things that we may have forgotten. When we take action, and attend to our physical needs, we start to restore our soul. Our mind is a powerful thing, and as a runner I know the pain it can force on our bodies to endure - if just enough will-power. When our physical state is well, then, and only then will our soul start to heal - and that’s when we can start to tackle the negativity that has plagued our minds. That’s when we may experience a renewal of the mind. zip (all versions) | iPad | iPhone | Terms of Use

New projects uploaded guisseee. This one’s entitled: “A new dawn”

And as the morning came on, you became quite the virtuoso. You can’t always put things back to the way they were, but the certainty of change doesn’t necessarily need to be looked down upon. And so it came to be that the two places became one, in a place just to the left of the 21st century. Closeness has nothing to do with distance

In case you haven’t already, check out the first post of 2012 @ bumblebeestudios[dot]co

December in Bali can be a whole different experience than what one might expect from this tropical paradise. Other than it’s distinct cultural presence in the modern Indonesian society, due to the island’s own variety of Hinduism - Bali is most widely known for it’s long sandy shores and year-round waves. The island getaway concept has long made Bali the number tourist destination in Indonesia ever since the early 90s. I hear stories from my grandparents of how ‘the island of the gods’ was like for them when they first experienced it during my parent’s wedding; back in 1990. It’s amazing that how only a year before my birth, Kuta was nothing more than a mere 100 tourists walking through its (then) pure golden shore lines, and dirt roads. Now, a lot of the ‘tropical paradise’  are designated areas accessible only to guests of world class resorts.

Bali was [perhaps still is] known to have endless views and nature sights which look like front covers of a magazine. However in the last 20 years, Bali has taken the direction of a new look that is very much similar to the modern translation of Hawaii.

There are only a few places that, in this writer’s opinion, preserve the true taste of the this island. These places are invisible to the naked tourist eye, and can easily be missed. The most authentic thing about this island however, are the spirits that dwell within it’s people. The people who have kept Bali’s tradition, culture, and religion so very vibrant, and very much alive in this ever so modernizing world. This is where the true spirit of Bali can be found. A timeless adventure that touches even the inner most depths of your spiritual core.

Here are some more shots from my Canon A1. Like I’ve mentioned before, there’s something beautiful in analog shots. The so called “limitations” with the number of shots per film tends to let you take a step back, and literally think twice before that shutter clicks. The anticipation of waiting to see the results, is also a thing of wonder. Those who shoot with film probably know where I’m coming from. For those who don’t, I strongly suggest you give it a try.

“Sisterly love” is a portrait of my lovely blood sisters. Names and other details of subjects will be spared for now. However, I would like to mention that I cannot thank God enough for such lovely sisters. Wherever our lives may take us, what’s most important is our relationship with the spirits all around us - and what spirits can be more important than the ones closest to you. The spirits living inside the people who are dearest to you, is the same spirit that lives in you. For “you, however, are not in the realm of the flesh but are in the realm of the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God lives in you” ~Romans 8:9a

At “The Ritual”, cliff view location for wedding ceremonies. We are setting up for the big shoot which will start from 3pm till 9pm. Hans-sen Hoefer is currently “twistin and turnin” in a nearby lavatory. After he comes out we’ll be that much closer to shooting a 3 - 5 minute trailer for this grand occasion.

We’ve arrived in Bali!
Christiaan is excited to visit three more studios in Bali, Indonesia (after having visited some in Jakarta), and I am certainly feeling the heat whilst searching up on some more secondary resources for my essay (that’s the red in the picture).
You can contact us through this number: +6287877746215 (245 [instead of 215] at the end for Christiaan)

Primary Research gathering - Jakarta

Our primary data research is going pretty well. Yesterday was a gold mine for my research on the Spa industry in Indonesia. The General Manager, and Director of CPP group, franchise owner of Martha Tilaar BSD (Bu Yutin, our personal contact), and the Designer from the CPP arts team all gave me fair insight on several aspects of the industry. Jakarta’s mayor representative was also present, along with other government officials.

Today I’ll make time to filter that information as well as create manuscripts for further reference. As for tomorrow and the day after, I will assist Christiaan with his interviews in some studios spread across this city giant.

A few change in plans: Thursday May 5th, we will already be making way to the island of Gods to finish up our first assignment for this module.

Sound Engineers: Ruanth Chrisley Thijssen & Christiaan Marnix Bos
Location: Git-git waterfall, & Seminyak beach- Bali, Indonesia
Date & Time: 30-01-11, 01-02-11, 3pm-5pm & 10am-1pm

photo above: Chris & Chris Recording some nature sounds straight from the source. “Git-git” waterfall truly gave great sounds even when captured with a stick omni microphone sticking out of a M-box. Sounds from Seminyak beach Bali also gave us some good material to work with.
